In March, 2015 UWindsor cohort students audited courses in Southwest University. In addition to that, some guest speakers were invited by Reciprocal Learning Program to deliver speeches to UWindsor candidates, for example, Dr. Ling Li talked about Education in China: 1949-2016 and Professor Jiali Yao gave a topic about Ethnic Minority Education of Southwestern China.
In April, 2015 UWindsor cohort students experienced Chinese culture in Southwest University. Professor Guanshan Qi taught the UWindsor students about the history and technique behind the art of calligraphy. UWindsor students show their calligraphy characters on the fans they made. UWindsor students also learnt martial art from Professor Ming Deng, enriched their entertainment life.
In April, 2015 UWindsor cohort students visited Southwest University (SWU) and attended seminars guided by Dr. Shijing Xu (Reciprocal Learning Program Coordinator). Dr. Shijing Xu and Dr. Shijian Chen (Vice-chancellor of SWU) delivered a speech to give a warm welcome to UWindsor students. Dr. Yibing Liu also welcomes the group and provides tips for success in our stay。 On behalf of UWindsor students, Josh gave a speech to express their thanks and gratitude to SWU.
In April, 2015 UWindsor cohort students presented workshops to the students of SWU. Pam, Erika and Mary talked about life in Canada. Jacqueline, Ruxandra, Jacklyn and Ayham dispel Canadian myths. Social media in the classroom is presented by Nausheen, Ayla and Lyndsay. Josh, Ken and Jasmin created a drum circle and discuss Canadian music.

In March, 2015 UWindsor students took interviews by Dr. Shijing Xu (Reciprocal Learning Program Coordinator) and Dr. Jonathan Bayley for Reciprocal Learning Programs. UWindsor students may be asked some questions like why you choose to come to China. After interviews, Dr. Shijing Xu provided some tips for applying Chinese Visa through a seminar. They also made some pre-departure preparation.
The UWindsor 2015 group joined the International Students team for the Campus sports meet. Josh ruan the 1500m, and Jacqueline the 400m. Nevin and David participated in the long jump competition and a group of UWindsor students and SWU buddies jump in the skipping competition.

In April, 2015 UWindsor students attended a local sports meet for the opening ceremonies. Ruxandra, Ken, Erika and Lindsay cheered on the different groups as they entered the stadium and support the SWU skipping team as they perform.

In March, 2015 UWindsor students visited the State Key Laboratory of Silkworm Genome. The students learned about the silkworm research as well as the cancer research being conducted in the lab. Pam and Ken held Silkworms in the palm of their hand.

Hang Yang , the exchange student of Southwest University in 2015 Fall and CARL organized a trip for the UWindsor group over the May Tomb Sweeping weekend to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dazu Rock Carvings. SWU buddies helped to explain the meanings behind the rock carvings during the tour.
In May, 2015 UWindsor cohort students observed the Junior and Senior High school classes at Southwest University (SWU). Shichang Yang gave a lesson about what the future may look like, while Jacqueline presented a topic about Canada high school, and Ruxi taught how to design houses.
In August, 2015 CBC interviewed Dr. Shijing Xu (Reciprocal Learning Program Coordinator) about the Reciprocal Learning Program and the collaboration between China and Canada. David, Ruxi and Lilly were interviewed by CBC to talk about their feelings of participate in this program in China. Ayham also received an interview through skype to talk about their experience in China.

The University of Windsor’s Daily News did a story on the Reciprocal Learning Program conducted by Dr. Xu in February of 2016. Erika, who is now teaching in Vietnam, joined the interview via Skype to share her experience in China along with Nevin, David and Jacqueline in Windsor.

In May, 2015 UWindsor cohort students gave some lessons to Yucai Middle School students in different subjects. in Erica, Pamela, Ayla, Jacklyn, Lindsey, Josh and Mary had the opportunities to teach different subjects which are their research interests. The teacher candidates also introduced Canada to students. Students in Yucai Middle School enjoyed having classes and learned a lot from it.

In May, 2015 UWindsor cohort students visited Zeng Jia Yan Primary School. Teacher candidates delivered classes to students in Zeng Jia Yan Primary School, for example, Erica taught students Canadian music and student really enjoyed it. Students also learnt how to play Chinese chess and draw pictures.
In November, 2015 accompanied by Dr.Shijing Xu (Reciprocal Learning Program Coordinator) and professors of Southwest University, students of University of Windsor went to Yucai Middle School. They visited student farm, campus, and school library in Yucai Middle School. Students of University of Windsor exchanged their ideas with students of Southwest University in a seminar held in Yucai Middle School. Teacher candidate from UWindsor like Roxi, and Erika gave a talk in the meeting. Some professors of Southwest University gives some tips in stay in China for students from University of Windsor.
In October, 2015 UWindsor cohort students visited Zeng Jia Yan Primary School guided by Dr. Shijing Xu (Reciprocal Learning Program Coordinator). Zeng Jia Yan Primary School provided a workshop to welcome UWindsor teacher candidates. In this workshop, officials in Consulate General of Canada in Chongqing has been invited into this workshop. They provided some experience in living in China and hoped Canadian student can learn a lot from this program.
