On December 3rd, 2019, Dr. Yishin Khoo and Yuhan Deng from the Bkejwanong-Windsor-Beijing Sister School working team visited Bkejwanong First Nation to help the local community with corn harvesting, husking and braiding. Teachers and children from Bkejwanong School were present at the harvesting event as well.

This corn harvesting initiative is part of the indigenous Sustainable Communities Food Sovereignty movement that is happening all over Turtle Island and around the world. After this year's harvest, seeds will be selected and saved for next year's planting in the Bkejwanong community.
